Denitia
Denitia
Denitia is a singer, a songwriter, a guitarist and producer who brings together pop, R&B, electronic and alternative music in a way that is fresh and familiar all at once.

Denitia grew up in Baytown, Texas, just outside of Houston. By the age of 13, she was teaching herself to play guitar, and by the time she got to high school, she was writing original songs and was the bandleader for her church youth group. During her time at her next stop - Nashville, Denitia independently released 4 EPs and 1 LP before finally landing in New York City. Brooklyn is where she took to the synth and electronic sounds that would become the backbone of future musical projects including denitia and sene. The duo toured extensively, releasing 2 EPs and 2 LPs, and then working with Red Bull and Rinse FM. They attracted acclaim from music blogs like the Fader, Stereogum, Rolling Stone, SPIN, and the NY Times.

“There’s a sense of vulnerability in her lyrics, but she sounds confident standing in her own radiance.” - Pitchfork
“…artfully spanning the divides between pop, R&B, dancehall, house, indie rock, and more…exists in continuum with Thom Yorke and Solange…” - Stereogum
“A genre-defying artist who modernizes both rock and soul.” - Afropunk
